چکیده

Spinel + plagioclase symplectites in pelitic metamorphic rocks have been reported from many localities. We report detail an occurrence of this texture Tenmondai Rock, Lützow-Holm Complex, East Antarctica. This is produced by the following reaction; garnet sillimanite = spinel plagioclase. can be described as two net-transfer reactions; 5Grs Alm 12Als 3Hc 15An, and Prp 3Spl 15An. propose new geobarometers (GASpP) based on these equations. For example, one P (−155790 587.4T RT lnKFe) / 29.378, for assemblage CFASZn-system. Where pressure bar, T temperature K, R represents gas constant. The equilibrium constant is, KFe (aGrs5 aAlm)/(aHc3 aAn15). Our proposed are free quartz, corundum, orthopyroxene, cordierite within These barometers useful to estimate conditions spinel-bearing a wide pressure-temperature range (andalusite, kyanite, fields). (P-T) at Rock applying GASP, GRIPS, GRAIL, GASpP geobarometers, Zr-in-Rt geothermometer. evolution characterized clockwise P-T-t path. peak P-T condition about 820 MPa 850 °C. symplectite was during decompressional stage evolution, 450 700

A plagioclase–olivine–spinel–magnetite inclusion from Maralinga (CK): Evidence for sequential condensation and solid–gas exchange

We report a detailed petrography, mineral chemistry, and trace element study of MaTroc, a large calcium–aluminum-rich inclusion (CAI) (5 2.5 mm) of irregular triangular shape. The inclusion has a zonal structure: The core consists of a porous plagioclase–olivine–Ca-rich pyroxene intergrowth with subordinate apatite. Its texture is meta-gabbro-like, similar to other plagioclase–olivine inclusion...

The Accuracy of Derived Plagioclase Compositions from Multi-component, Multi-phase Sand Mixtures: Implications for Determining Martian Plagioclase Compositions

Introduction. Plagioclase feldspar has been identified as the dominant mineral phase in the martian crust [1-2] through analysis of Mars Global Surveyor Thermal Emission Spectrometer (TES) data. Martian meteorites , samples of isolated terrain on Mars, contain plagioclase in abundances secondary only to pyroxene. Terrestrial basalts and andesites contain primary plagioclase that is calcic-inter...

Spinel–rock salt transformation in LiCoMnO4−δ

The transformation on heating LiCoMnO4, with a spinel structure, to LiCoMnO3, with a cation-disordered rock salt structure, accompanied by loss of 25% of the oxygen, has been followed using a combination of diffraction, microscopy and spectroscopy techniques. The transformation does not proceed by a topotactic mechanism, even though the spinel and rock salt phases have a similar, cubic close-pa...

Metamorphism of basement rocks in the Central Zone of the North China Craton: implications for Paleoproterozoic tectonic evolution

Lithological, structural, metamorphic and geochronological data for the North China Craton enable its division into the Western and Eastern Blocks of Archean to Paleoproterozoic age separated by a north–south trending Paleoproterozoic orogenic belt: the Central Zone. The Central Zone is divisible into a series of lowto medium-grade granite–greenstone belts and high-grade metamorphic terrains co...
